According to a major research report, Instagram was the fifth most downloaded app in the world last year. Couple this with the fact that every person in every industry in every country could probably use a virtual assistant (even VAs use VAs!) – it’s a good time to find great clients using Instagram.
Instagram has become a platform for sharing compelling stories, behind-the-scenes goodness, first-look launches, packages and offers, humour, bad days, good days, and everything in between.
People seek connection and imagination beyond what they can get from your website or email sequence – so it’s a great way to click in with a community of people who are buying into you as a person offering a service versus you as a business offering it.
Empathy sells more than ever, so here at the VA Lead Network, we really feel it’s a missed opportunity for our up-and-coming VAs who don’t use Instagram to start communicating and connecting with a new audience.
Your impact on this platform isn’t going to be overnight, but with enough consistency, it will happen.
Where to start?
Well, following a formula around your caption choice where you rotate content that includes:
- 📸 Behind the scenes (BTS) stuff (pull back the curtain into your life);
- 📸 Value additions (what’s important to you in business and how does the client benefit from that?);
- 📸 The sell (showcase those offers, packages, services and the fabulousness of them); and
- 📸 Community engagement (sharing and re-gramming epic captions that others in your community have shared).
…You’ll be on the front foot straight away.
Keep your images and captions consistent in their aesthetic and tone by using similar lengths and formatting, as well as image colours or gradients, and make sure you’re commenting, liking and saving others’ posts regularly.
It’s give and take on Instagram, but you’ll find your feet in no time.
