In short, no you don’t.
In saying that, while you aren’t busy with clients, now is the perfect time to get set up and work through tasks that many VAs (including us!) wish we had spent more time on before we became fully booked!
It’s free and easy to get set up and apply for an ABN if you plan on operating your virtual assistant business as a sole trader. You will need to seek personal advice regarding the type of entity (sole trader, company, trust etc) that would be best for your circumstances.
You also don’t need a trading name to start winning work.
It’s great to see that you’ve already downloaded our guide to setting up your VA business – this covers everything else we’d be working on in the downtime between clients, and we’d love to know if you’d like any more information about the steps detailed in that guide.
